This ONE Move Feels Too Good to Skip!

Quick, Easy, & Feels Good!

When an exercise feels good and is quick, you’re much more likely to keep showing up for it every day.

This is what helps you to stick to your habits and actually create consistency.

That’s why this week, I’m giving you one simple, no-equipment move you can do anytime, anywhere.

It’s the perfect exercise habit that you can easily master, which can become the foundation for many more!

(Check out this last Tuesday’s newsletter on why “habit stacking” is so effective for reaching your goals.)

JUST ONE THING

Small, feel-good moves, like shoulder glides are the perfect example of how stacking one simple habit on another can create lasting change.

And make your whole body feel better!

Because when it feels this good, you’ll actually keep doing it.

Your JUST ONE THING to Master Habit Stacking

Do shoulder glides daily

When you have shoulder blade knots, neck pain and stiffness, and you’re feeling slouched over, you might not realize how much it’s impacting the way the rest of your body feels.

By doing a move that activates all of the muscles around your shoulder blades, your entire body will feel lighter and more energetic.

Doing shoulder glides daily:

• Improves shoulder mobility

• Reduces pinching & stiffness

• Boosts posture by strengthening scapular movement

• Feels amazing after long days at a desk, cleaning or on your phone!

Shoulder Blade Glides

  1. With your arms out straight, “shrug” your shoulders forward and back
  2. Try it with your arms up and also down
  3. You can even go in a circular motion forward and back

Extra Tip: Move your shoulders in the largest circles possible, tapping into your furthest ranges of motion. Focus especially on the moment you squeeze them back and down to make your neck feel really long.

Did You Know...

  • Unhealthy, painful shoulders often mean weak, restricted shoulder blade muscles. When your shoulder blades can glide easily in all directions, your whole shoulder girdle gets stronger.
  • Feeling tense or stressed? Tension or stress can cause you to lift your shoulders and hunch forward without realizing it, leading to knots and tension headaches.
  • Shoulder glides are great for “habit stacking”. Once you’ve mastered this easy move and do it daily, add in another posture stretch, like a doorway chest stretch.

Until next week... Be strong💪
