Unlock Tight, Poor Posture with This ONE Move!

Make shoulder blade knots disappear

How’s your holiday to-do list coming along?

✔️ Gift wrapping marathon planned?

✔️  Afternoon of baking on the calendar?

✔️  Logging extra time online to finish work before end of year?

With “to-do’s” like this, I’m sure you’re quite familiar with the shoulder blade knots and upper back pain that often joins the party.

That rounded and hunched over position is to blame!

At times like this, you just need something you can do quickly to reverse all those sore & achy feelings, without reaching for a bottle of pain-relievers.

Read on to get my favorite “secret” for instant posture tension relief.

JUST ONE THING

Who wouldn’t love to get a deep tissue massage weekly?

But, that 💰adds up — FAST!

Invest in a foam roller and you can get similar release on your own.

I’ve frequently shared with you my ❤️ of foam rolling (especially Rollga’s options)!

It’s great for kneading out knots and helping your muscles relax. All in the comfort of your own home.

Your JUST ONE THING to Fix Posture & Release Tension

Use A Foam Roller Often

A foam roller isn’t just for loosening fascia and easing sore muscle.

It’s a versatile tool for so many other strength-building & mobility-boosting moves.

One of my favorite “tricks” is to use it as a prop to get into this most AH-mazing stretch!

This stretch below is going to instantly unlock all the tightness you feel after baking & gift wrapping this season.

Foam Roller Chest Opener

  1. Lay back over your roller with it positioned vertically in line with your spine. Make sure your head is supported on the roller, and the base of it should be hitting at your mid back. (Tuck tailbone under to give support to your lower back.)
  2. Lay arms out wide to the side and feel your chest muscles open and stretch. Let gravity take over, opening up your arms and releasing chest muscles.
  3. Hold for 6-8 deep breaths.

Extra Tip: Don’t have a Rollga yet? Take a bath towel and roll it up; position it in the same spot along your spine.

Did You Know...

  • Poor alignment adds pounds of pressure to your body! For every inch your head drifts forward, your neck absorbs an extra 10 pounds of pressure. Since the average head weighs 10-12#, even a small 1-2 inch misalignment can pile 20-30 pounds of extra load on your cervical spine.
  • When hunched or rounded posture is not corrected, the length of your muscles and fascial tissue changes to adopt this new shape. This places chronic stress on your entire spine.
  • Improving your hunched over posture for the long term requires a bit more action than just one passive stretch (👆). This video walks you through some additional strength and mobility exercises to restore your posture for good.

Until next week... Be strong💪
