Need Christmas Gift Ideas?

My FAVORITE tried & true items for your health

The countdown to Christmas is upon us

🎄Did you grow up watching The Sound of Music over Thanksgiving break?

That movie seems to be on one channel or another around turkey day.

🎶Brown paper packages tied up with string🎶

🎶These are a few of my favorite things🎶

We’re going to have some fun in this issue.

I’m going to share a few of my favorite things (all very affordable!) to help you build your Christmas wish list.

Why This Matters

As women, we are so good at nurturing and caring for others. But we deserve care and nurturing, too. This issue contains some of my favorite health and fitness (and fun!) products. I hope you enjoy!

FITNESS SIMPLIFIED

👋 “What should I get for at-home workouts?”

I get this question nearly every week.

It’s true—building a home gym can be daunting!

But fortunately, you do NOT need tons of complicated equipment to create a workout space that’s effective and has everything you need.

The items I’ve linked below are the only items I design all my workouts around—that’s it!

Plus, these are the brands that I personally use and can vouch for their quality.

Fitness Tip to Build a Home Gym

Get Key Workout Basics

Here are some of my favorite home gym must-haves:

Knee pad - If your knees hurt when doing kneeling exercises, this is a must!

Dumbbells - These are my fav because the handles are easy to grip and the weighted ends are hexagon, so they don’t roll away.

Mini Resistance Bands - A great stocking stuffer! I use these all the time for targeted glute and knee strengthening exercises.

Physioball - Instead of a workout bench, a big exercise ball works great!

Rollga - The. Best. Foam Roller! It targets your muscles and soft tissues better than any other foam roller. New to rolling? Get the LITE. Want firmer pressure? Get the PRO. (use coupon code MEGAN15 at checkout for 15% off).

Yoga Mat - This one is perfect as it’s not too squishy and has a little bit of texture to prevent slippage.

Test out your new yoga mat with this fantastic mobility routine 👇

Upper and Lower Body Mobility Moves

  1. Thoracic Rotation (6 reps/side): Get onto your hands & knees on floor; place one hand behind head and rotate upper body, moving your elbow in as big of an arc as possible.
  2. Lunging Hip Stretch with Reach (6 reps/side): Alternate between a hamstring stretch and a deep lunge with a reach. Move back and forth through these motions for upper and lower body mobility.
  3. Deep Squat with Reaches (6 reps): Squat down and grab toes, alternate reaching each arm up, then while holding toes straighten legs for a hamstring stretch.

Extra tip: Use this mobility routine on its own as a recovery routine OR use it as a warm-up and cool down for your regular workouts. So versatile and feels so good!

Did You Know...

  • Having a dedicated and well-organized workout space can help inspire and motivate you.
  • The best dumbbell sizes to invest in first are a pair of 10- and 15-pound’ers. These are the sizes women tend to use the most in my popular Getstrong 30 and Getstrong X programs.

NUTRITION SIMPLIFIED

Moving over to the nutrition side...

It’s important to have some great items to get your day started, cover you when you don’t have time for a full PRO-filled (PROtein & PROduce) meal.

And help you easily prepare that meal of PRO’s.

Nutrition Tip to Be Well-Equipped

Build a Pantry with Basics

Some of my favorite food-related items are:

Evan’s Brothers Coffee - Their roasts taste so good there’s no need to load it up with cream and sugar. (Plus it’s roasted local near where I live in North Idaho!)

Menowell Bars - A great snack bar when you need something healthy in a pinch. (Use discount code MEGANDAHLMAN)

Protein Powder - Great for smoothies or stirring into Greek yogurt for an extra protein boost.

The Blendtec Blender - This is a workhorse in the kitchen—thousands of healthy smoothies have been made in this over the years!

Nonstick frying pan - So easy to clean and another item I use every. single. day.I make a PRO-filled egg scramble for breakfast nearly every morning in this pan.

Here’s the recipe so you can try it yourself!

Megan’s Signature Egg Scramble

More ideas to Use Your New Pan

  • Add diced ham (easy to find pre-diced in store) to hot pan with some chopped onions, then mix in 3 egg whites (or 1/3 cup liquid egg whites) and 1 whole egg. Scramble and top with small amount of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Make a hash of sweet potatoes, onions, peppers & garlic; saute in 2 tsp of olive oil, then add in pre-cooked turkey kielbasa. Drizzle on some balsamic vinegar for serving.
  • Try a tuna melt: mix together 1 can tuna + 1 can sardines with 1T mayo, dill, chopped red onions & pickles; spread on half a low carb tortilla with a thin slice of Swiss cheese. Fold over and cook like a quesadilla.

MINDSET SIMPLIFIED

The key to thriving during busy and sometimes stressful times is to have some things that make you feel like a Queen.

Here are some of my favorite “Funzies” things:

Piper & Mint pj’s - These have mint infused into the fibers to help with cooling—yes, please! (Get 15% off with code MEGAN15)

Uplift Desk - Definitely a splurge, but well worth it if you spend a lot of time at your desk.

Kari Gran Skincare products - My skin has never looked & felt better. Their tinted spf is fantastic.

My favorite workout top & pants

THIS water bottle - cheers!
